Super Six

Almost 14 years ago I went to a wedding that changed my life.  I went to high school and church with Holly, and was invited to her wedding.  A couple of days before the wedding she decided that I needed to meet her friend from college (ACU) named Paige.  I thought it sounded good that maybe going out with a “Private School Girl” would be fun.  Most people don’t believe me when I say this, but I knew there was something special about her the first minute I saw her.  There was only one problem, Holly forgot to tell me that she had a boyfriend and he was at the wedding.  Unfazed I waited until he wasn’t paying attention, and asked for her phone number.  14 years and 4 kids later I thank God everyday I went to that wedding.  (I also thank Holly for being sneaky).

I am proud of many things in my life, but nothing comes close to this group.

My Crew

Turner (aka, Bubba) is the oldest of the bunch.  He has never met a stranger (just like his momma). I don’t worry about him making something out of himself, because the world will always need rockstar salesmen.  He plays a lot of sports including basketball, baseball, and golf.  The other three are extremely lucky because he is an unbelieveable brother.  I hope he gets to follow his passion in life, whatever that is.

Shelby Kate is my beautiful daughter.  While she is all girl, she is always at the height of fashion.  But she also loves to get dirty and wrestle with her brothers.  I see a lot of myself in her.  I remember a lot of my friends telling me (before we had kids) that there was nothing like having a daughter, and they couldn’t have been more right.  She is very special, and I plan on her changing the world.

Mack Thomas is three (yes we actually refer to him by that sometimes).  I knew that at some point I might have a son that would make me pay for everything I ever did to my parents.  Well he is it.  Mack is built like a firehydrant, and already knows that his smile will get him out of most trouble in life.  At this point I hope he makes to the age of 5.

Blane David is the caboose and was a big surprise.  Now I can’t imagine our lives without him.  He will only be one grade apart from his brother, and will be sharing a room before too long.  So please pray for him.  While his little personality is just starting to show it off, I think he may be the calming influence that our family certainly needs.

I like to talk about my kids, so I am sure I will do so on this blog.
